The Assassination
Selene was five when her parents were killed. It’s more of a shape in her early life, an absence that became the context for everything that followed. Her aunt raised her within the clerical tradition of Sehanine Moonbow and gave her a framework for understanding death she’s carried ever since.
Now
She wanders between realms of existence the way other people wander between rooms. She worships Sehanine, attends to the dead with quiet reverence, and makes people mildly uncomfortable without intending to. She’s bonded herself to a small number of people with a loyalty that runs considerably deeper than her calm exterior suggests.

She turns at the last moment to calmly acknowledge the stranger who’s arrived, telling them with quiet certainty: it isn’t after me. It wants you.

Selene is pulled from her quiet contemplation by an unusual, disconcerting presence. Death, but not the kind she’s used to. It clings to a passerby, hovering over them like a dark cloud, instinctively urging her to act. A curse? She can’t tell, but it isn’t natural and it doesn’t follow the order of things she’s sworn to uphold. You’re cursed somehow, and she wants to help you fix it, or find out why.
