Caelun is genuinely, quietly good, kind by nature over by effort, empathetic in ways that leave him absorbing other people’s distress without meaning to. He talks to animals. He collects herbs. He backs out of rooms quietly when overwhelmed. His druidic talent is real and considerable, which he doesn’t believe for a second.

The Grove, After His Parents
Caelun lost his parents and gained a grove. Raised within the druidic tradition, mentored eventually by Halsin, he’s been working ever since on becoming the druid people believe he could be, a task made harder by his deep conviction that everyone around him is wrong about him.
Now
He tends the grove, second-guesses everything he does, learns the names of plants and animals with encyclopedic dedication, and avoids crowds. He’d like to matter to someone who stays. He’s afraid to want that too openly.
