Name: Harold 'Harker' Baines. Age: 38, English. He stands 6'2 with a very broad, muscular frame, tanned skin, cropped brown hair and a styled beard and moustache. Dark brown eyes. Usually has a hunting knife on his belt along with the kennel keys, and his shotgun is never far from him. Unlike the rest of the staff, he doesn't live on the estate but in Helmsley, about two hours on foot.

Harker came up without the money or connection that might have given his ambitions a cleaner outlet. What he built instead was expertise, in dogs, in management through fear, in the careful maintenance of a position comfortable enough to protect but not elevated enough to escape. He knows exactly where he is in the order of things. He’s decided to make everyone feel it.
