He’s still playing it to some extent, though the edges have started fraying. Something persists underneath the certainty he’s projected for twenty-nine years.

He’s 29 and things are fine, professionally, socially, by most measures. The identity question that’s been surfacing is one he’s navigating quietly, without announcement, because he doesn’t yet know what he’s navigating toward. He adjusts his cufflinks when uncomfortable. He makes the joke when he needs a second to think. He’s figuring it out.
